Decisions...

Believe we had a successful weekend!

I cleaned up some of the dust laying around
post demo...

Bride-to-be's 2nd visit to the two venues was
successful, believe we know which we're going with...

Bride-to-be's sister & hubby settled down on a
floorplan for the new home they are going to purchase...

Clean path, wedding venue and new home,
I'd call that success (well super busy but success will do!)

Wedding Venues Revisited

Me and the Bride-to-be are heading back
to revisit the two venues we saw last weekend.

Went to dinner last night and after, came home
and did some # crunching with the help of my
good friend, Excel!

She's a nervous wreck already on how to afford
this reception... I am not a soothsayer so to speak,
however, I can see about 14 months of nervous
Nelly to deal with....

Where's my Prozac?

Kitchen - Demo Has Begun!

Can I hear a Whoo Hoo!!!?
After what feels like months
(well actually it has been 2 months
since we began) of waiting,
the demolition has begun and is done!

And I think I can use the demo dust as
my excuse for white hair now!

Here' a few more snapshots from inside...

Lent Begins...

As with my last year's Lenten blog post,
I will live this season with a spirit of DOING
v. a season of DOING WITHOUT.

As I reread my post from last year,
I thought to myself, hmmmmm,
not a bad post at all, so...

Ditto...
2011 Ash Wednesday Post

Peace to all (two of) my readers!

It's Beginning... Finding the Right Wedding Venue

Ok, this post is going to be very 'picture'esque.
I believe I shared that my 3rd child, Lisa, got
engaged on Christmas Day.

Now the prep for the wedding begins.  In today's world,
you have to find a venue before the church since most of
the venues get booked so far in advance.

We've seen five (5) places and each one is very nice and
very expensive.  First place we looked at was the most expensive
and off in the 'boondocks' so it would absolutely require hotels,
an hour of travel to the venue and my daughter found it and
'fell in love with it' before seeing it live.

Next, we saw a place on the Main Line that is currently
under contruction and although mood boards do help you
get a better feel for the final surroundings, my daughter is
not the type of person who can envision the final outcome.
But it was lovely nonetheless....

Next, we ventured into the city.
Lisa claimed to not want a city wedding
but we went in to check out a beautiful
ballroom owned by the the top restauranter
in the city.  Breathtaking!  Loved this place,
however, everything was not included and it
seemed a la cart.  Although initially more affordable,
after adding in the parking, alcohol, venue rental, etc...
this place became as expensive as the others.

I know Lisa did not want to have her wedding where
her sister, Rachel, had hers... and  this ain't too shabby either...

but I really wanted her to check out the caterer
Rachel used since they included just about
EVERYTHING in their pricing AND it was
top notch to boot!

No, not the same venue, you see in the three + years
since Rachel was married, this caterer has opened up two
new venues in the city.... so, we went and looked at each one.

First this one, ...

 and the other.....

Oh my, our decision is very tough, each place had
it's unique features that we L-O-V-E-D.

I myself am leaning towards the last two... and I think the bride-to-be is too!

Which do you think is the best venue of the five?

I'll let you know her decision when she makes it up.... til then,
The bells are ringing for Sean and is gal!

The Big 'C' Scare

Had to return for more images,
There was a spot that was of concern.

I was squished and sqwashed,
Then pulled, rolled and turned.

Pictures, pictures and more pictures,
This morning I had one heck of a time!

Sitting and waiting for readings,
Only to find it benign.

Can I tell you how happy I was to hear that word? Benign.
I think I am in LOVE with Benign.
I have to do a follow up in a few months to keep an eye on it.
But for now... it's benign and I can relax.

And my hubby still has my booby to play with!
Happy Valentine's Day

Didn't even wear a coat today...

With a high of 53 and sunshine in the forecast,
I figured why bother?

(Don't you just love the 'NO Coat' above?)

However, it was 34 degrees when I left so
I powered on the heated seats and enjoyed
the trip into the office.

Actually, I won't even get outside in the sunshine
today... doing Zumba after work and by the time
I am done that, it will be dark outside.

Regardless, I still find it amazing that it's February 6,
and I didn't wear a coat today.

25 Years Ago Today...

I gave birth to my youngest child And saw my father in my newborn's Blue eyes. Today, my own little Groundhog Saw his shadow. A miracle in itself Considering he flatlined last April, Was hanging onto life by the thinest Thread. Also, he used to say he wouldn't live Past 18, then he changed that to 21 and Today I got to celebrate his 25th with Him alive and, well sorta, well. Thanking God for today for my own Little Punxatawny Phil and wishing my Son a Happy 25th Birthday!
