Ok, this post is going to be very 'picture'esque.
I believe I shared that my 3rd child, Lisa, got
engaged on Christmas Day.
Now the prep for the wedding begins. In today's world,
you have to find a venue before the church since most of
the venues get booked so far in advance.
We've seen five (5) places and each one is very nice and
very expensive. First place we looked at was the most expensive
and off in the 'boondocks' so it would absolutely require hotels,
an hour of travel to the venue and my daughter found it and
'fell in love with it' before seeing it live.
Next, we saw a place on the Main Line that is currently
under contruction and although mood boards do help you
get a better feel for the final surroundings, my daughter is
not the type of person who can envision the final outcome.
But it was lovely nonetheless....
Next, we ventured into the city.
Lisa claimed to not want a city wedding
but we went in to check out a beautiful
ballroom owned by the the top restauranter
in the city. Breathtaking! Loved this place,
however, everything was not included and it
seemed a la cart. Although initially more affordable,
after adding in the parking, alcohol, venue rental, etc...
this place became as expensive as the others.
I know Lisa did not want to have her wedding where
her sister, Rachel, had hers... and this ain't too shabby either...
but I really wanted her to check out the caterer
Rachel used since they included just about
EVERYTHING in their pricing AND it was
top notch to boot!
No, not the same venue, you see in the three + years
since Rachel was married, this caterer has opened up two
new venues in the city.... so, we went and looked at each one.
First this one, ...
and the other.....
Oh my, our decision is very tough, each place had
it's unique features that we L-O-V-E-D.
I myself am leaning towards the last two... and I think the bride-to-be is too!
Which do you think is the best venue of the five?
I'll let you know her decision when she makes it up.... til then,
The bells are ringing for Sean and is gal!
