For auld lang syne.

So enjoying this week 'off' from work...

even if I have to log on and work,
it's nice to just do so at a slower pace.

Had a nice Christmas holiday with friends on Christmas Eve
and family on Christmas day.  My daughter's family spent
Christmas Eve night and Christmas night with us.
So you know what that means....
I got to spend my grandson's first Christmas with him and
see him as he awoke.  It was sheer heaven to have him
with us.

NOT THAT DYLAN.... LOL,
THIS DYLAN
ISN'T HE THE CAT'S MEOW?

Then came the ABOMINABLE SNOWFALL!
Causing the E-A-G-L-E-S game to be postponed until tonight,
a Snow Emergency in the city and everyone running to the grocery
stores so they could make French bread.  Still not sure why
everyone wants French bread when it snows but the bread, milk
& eggs are in short supply when that famous four letter word is
spoken by the weather forecasters.... S-N-O-W!
Our weekend guests decided they'd better head back home to
the city when the Snow Emergency @ 2pm was announced.
They made it home safe and sound and have been cuddled up in bed
ever since they got home! LOL.

Luckily, it was Sunday and we had no place to go to so we could
just sit back, watch the snow fall and listen to the blustery winds!
Boy oh boy, were they ever loud and
man oh man, did they ever make snow drifts!
(On our side of the street, of course!)

Snow blowed and shoveled our way to freedom by mid-day Monday.
Got out for appointment and a little shopping.
Worked last night for several hours and most of the day today.

The snow did cause a change in plans to visit with a friend
and catch up, but that can (and will) be rescheduled for
another time.

Cannot believe that tomorrow is Wednesday, Hump Day,
and we're heading towards the 2nd weekend of the 'holiday' break.
Who knows what things I'll do the rest of the week.
Shopping is definitely on the list.

More family time on New Year's Day and so looking forward to
that gathering with cousins and their families.  We always have
such a great time when we meet up.

P.S. (Pix collage to come once all the holiday parties are completed. I know, you can't wait!)

Turmoil to Tranquil...sooo looking forward to the future ;)

My life, right now, as I am living it
is like living among hurricane force winds.

Being tossed about juggling priorities.
So many things going on and so little time,

however, I am looking forward to time that's been
carved out to spend a few tranquil and light-hearted moments
with friends and family over the next week...

Can you see me in there? Slowing down to appreciate
the moment?  Sooo looking forward to it....

But I must survive the turmoil now!
Wish me luck that I survive to enjoy
;-)

First Christmas Family Party of the Season today...

with the first Christmas family party...
I've been so busy that I completely forgot about it!
Imagine, someone who so loves the Christmas season
completely forgetting about the first family get toether
of the season!!@@@!@!@#@!#!@

I am overwhelmed at work and need to carve out time
to be with those I hold near and dear
Or be with those who will hold me near (and dear!)
lol...
May try to post a few pix later or may just hold off and
do them all together post-Christmas.
I know, my throngs of readers protest and want it all NOW!

Our faithful companion, Reggie is back home with us.

The vet called and let us know that Reggie's remains were
ready to be picked up and brought home.

Hubby went over to retrieve our faithful companion of
14 years and bring him back home to be with us.

Here's a picture of his 'urn' or more appropriately,
his wooden memorial.

My heart aches each time I pick up the box.
The tears come back just as if it were the
weekend we made that heart wrenching decision
to let him go and suffer no more.

I miss him so and would do anything to have
him here with us instead of his remains...
but that is the heart talking, feeling, thinking.
My brain tells me we did the right thing
for Reggie, our beloved dog.

Why are the tears running down my cheeks?
I should be happy he is free of his earthly
suffering but I am not.

Not sure exactly what will be done with Reggie now.
Hubby said when he goes, he wants Reg to be placed with him,
which breaks my heart (note, he did not say he wants ME with him).

Thanks to all my readers who have read through the
story of the best dog in the world and listened to me
as I use my blog as a cathartic means to ease my pain and grief.

Until we meet at the Rainbow Bridge,
R.I.P. sweet, gentle Reginald Esman
You were the B-E-S-T and loved so much.

It's nice to catch up with old friends!

As my few regular readers know (said with great sarcasm), I am swamped at work with details surrounding my employer's National Sales Meeting.  Between non-stop meetings and conference calls, I have been putting in lots of extra time and working long hours.

Over the weekend, I was 'talking' with an old friend online (isn't that how we all do it today?).  We were discussing how long it's been since we've seen each other and we should make plans to meet up for dinner.  I said, let's plan it now,
pick a date and I'll pen you in on my calendar.

We chose December 1st.  Checked the calendar, it was opened and returned to my friend and said, "I've penned you in. It's a date!"

Needless to say, since I am so overwhelmed at work these days (it's to be expected, nothing new) it slipped my mind.  Good news is I penned in the dinner date on my home calendar and hubby saw and knew about it, so when my friend called my house yesterday to see if we were still on, he said she's got you on the calendar!

Long story short, I finally got a chance to talk to my friend and said I was planning on working late to get SOMETHNG done.  My friend said do you want to cancel?  I said, "No, let's get it over and done with. Hmmm, that didn't come out right did it.  I mean let's meet b/c if we postpone, we'll never get together so no, I want to meet up for dinner."

Can I tell you how much fun it was to meet up, share a meal and laugh our silly heads off?  It's the best medicine for this over-worked, exhausted working girl...
it's nice to catch up with old friends!

I highly recommend it, don't put it off, just do it...
you'll be all the happier for it.  Ciao!
